Movie Story : "DESPERADA is about mentally ill patients rescued from the streets and brought to a shelter owned by a lesbian psychology graduate and medicine undergraduate MIRIAM (Sue Prado) whose advocacy has been to take care of homeless persons with mental disorder. Miriam rescues BRENDA (Robb Guinto), a young woman who has gone through a gamut of abuses that tentatively broke her.
